KnowBe4 Wins Sustainability Leadership Award

At KnowBe4, we recognize that there is only one planet Earth, and we all share the responsibility of caring for it. To that end, we have built a robust sustainability program that touches all levels of the organization. It was an honor to be acknowledged for these efforts, on September 6, 2022, when we learned that the Business Intelligence Group named KnowBe4 as a winner of the Sustainability Leadership Award in the 2022 Sustainability Awards program. The Sustainability Awards honor those people, teams, and organizations who have made sustainability an integral part of their business practice or overall mission.

We were recognized for things such as:

Making carbon footprint commitments (see the previous blogs for more).

Establishing our employee resource group, EarthBe4. This group has spearheaded many community initiatives, including 10 company cleanups where we collected over 2,000 pounds of garbage in 2022 alone! EarthBe4 has also led the adoption of the area around our Clearwater, FL headquarters through the local Adopt-a-Street program.

The ongoing commitment to our Knowster Climate Pledge, which rolled out on Earth Day 2021 encourages employees to make a personal pledge to a more sustainable lifestyle. To date, approximately 95% of our employees have made a commitment through the pledge.

Our courtesy recycling program for employees where we collect and recycle various items such as plastic and reusable bags, electronics, and printer cartridges, among others;
Our Green Energy Incentives offer a $1,000 reimbursement for employees who purchase electric cars or solar panels for their homes. 

The establishment of our Environmentally Preferred Purchasing Policy, our Sustainability Policy to govern certain corporate activities, and our Zero Waste Plan and Sustainability Master Plan to drive accountability toward our larger sustainability goals.

We are thrilled and humbled to be recognized as a leader in environmental sustainability and to have our efforts acknowledged. We have an incredible group of employees and executives who make our program possible and the success that it is. Sustainability truly is a part of the KnowBe4 culture, from the bottom to the top.
