KnowBe4 is the first security awareness training vendor in the FedRAMP Marketplace
KnowBe4, the provider of the world’s largest security awareness training and simulated phishing platform, today announced entrance into the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) authorization process, with sponsorship from the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE). KnowBe4’s cloud-based security awareness training and simulated phishing platform is currently “In Process” in the FedRAMP Marketplace.
FedRAMP’s rigorous review process ensures cloud products and services used by federal agencies meet strict security requirements and capabilities, while also helping agencies accelerate their transition from legacy IT infrastructure to modern, cloud-based technology. KnowBe4 is on track to achieve a FedRAMP Agency Authorization in collaboration with the DoE and FedRAMP Program Management Office (PMO).
“Our commitment to helping government agencies better protect our nation is solidified by this new, strategic initiative,” said Stu Sjouwerman, CEO, KnowBe4. “KnowBe4’s journey to FedRAMP certification is just one component of our investment and focus on serving government agencies and helping them to manage the ongoing problem of social engineering.”
“We take our role as a cybersecurity provider to federal, state and local governments very seriously; our progress in the FedRAMP space is a prime example of that commitment,” said Rosa Smothers, senior VP of cyber operations, KnowBe4. “It's important to bring ongoing social engineering testing to the federal population. Every week, there's a new headline about adversaries targeting federal employees and contractors through phishing, social media approaches...these threats aren't a matter of 'if' but 'when.' The FedRAMP team are incredibly generous with their time and expertise, and we continue to remain grateful to Department of Energy for supporting us as our agency sponsor.”
In September 2018, KnowBe4 became the first security awareness training organization to complete the SOC2 Type II data security exam. This rigorous exam expresses an ongoing dedication to protection of client data. This certification demonstrates KnowBe4’s commitment to transparent and sound security practices.
